The Sharpsburg Piecemakers is a group formed in 1994. We started off with 5 or 6 members and now have over 50 members. We meet every Tuesday in the Sharpsburg Town Hall and CommunityCenter in Sharpsburg, from 10 a.m. until about 2:00 p.m. We bring our lunch . In November of 2014 we took on a project to supply quilts for the Homeless Veterans Program at Fort McPherson, Atlanta. The program which takes in homeless Veterans and helps them with medical needs, job training , housing and employment. Each Veteran that participates in the program is given a quilt which is their's to keep. The quilt is presented to the men and women with a special message on a label thanking them for their service to our country. We have given the program over 899 quilts. On the second Tuesday of each month we gather to create these quilts. We have a raffle quilt each year and the money from it is used to buy supplies for the Veterans quilts.
